About This Place

Located in the heart of St. Louis at 2509 S Jefferson Ave, Press Pizza and Pasta redefines Italian-inspired dining with a bold American twist. This vibrant pizza restaurant and cocktail bar is much more than just a place to grab a slice—it’s a culinary playground that masterfully blends traditional flavors with inventive flair, offering a uniquely memorable gastronomic experience.

Step inside and you’re greeted by a lively, modern atmosphere—equal parts casual and chic—perfect for everything from laid-back weeknight dinners to celebratory outings. The menu is a treasure trove of delightfully unexpected creations that excite both your palate and your imagination.

Start your meal with the beloved Cheese Stuffed Pizza, which showcases an irresistible marriage of tangy tomato, fresh basil, and decadent cheeses including mozzarella, provolone, and Grana Padano. Or indulge in the Pepperoni Stuffed Pizza, layered with pepperoni, mozzarella, pepperoni aioli, and a fresh peppery arugula finish that adds depth and brightness to each bite. Mushroom lovers will eagerly anticipate the Ozark Forest Mushroom stuffed pizza, where rustic Sottocenere and quark cheeses meld beautifully with Tuscan kale’s earthiness.

Beyond their signature stuffed pizzas, Press offers creative flatbreads such as the Garlic Cheese Flatbread—a sumptuous blend of garlic, creamy fontina, and fresh chives that serves as an addictive appetizer or side. For a lighter option, their Sweet Gem Caesar salad dazzles with vivid flavors from white anchovies, pickled lemon, and Grana Padano, offering a bright contrast to the rich dishes. The pastas, like the delicate Tortellini and the uniquely flavored Cavatelli, bring traditional Italian craftsmanship to the table with unexpected flavor profiles that surprise and satisfy.

The drink menu is equally creative, with craft cocktails like the vibrant Blood Orange Mule, the refreshingly tart Strawberry Rhubarb Margarita, and the deeply satisfying Bourbon Fitz. These carefully crafted libations elevate the dining experience, pairing perfectly with the eclectic menu.

What truly sets Press Pizza and Pasta apart is their fearless approach to flavor combinations and presentation. Reviewers consistently praise the originality and precision of each dish—Devon Porter raves about the “cheese garlic stuffed flatbread…to die for,” while Stephen enthusiastically recommends the “Big Mac and the Toasted Rav pizza,” highlighting how the former convincingly captures the essence of a classic burger in a pizza. Christian Holland gushes over the garlic bread sticks, calling them the “best I’ve ever had,” and praises the “unique flavor profiles” of the pasta dishes. Meanwhile, Emily Dustman celebrates the restaurant's ability to turn every meal into a “tasting experience” that delights both the eyes and the palate.

Whether you’re craving a comforting stuffed pizza that reimagines classic American favorites or seeking a refined pasta dish paired with an expertly crafted cocktail, Press Pizza and Pasta delivers with passion and innovation. The attentive, friendly service and inviting ambiance add the perfect finishing touch to a dining experience that’s as memorable as the food itself.

First time experience was amazing. We will definitely be coming back every time we come to St. Louis! The cheese garlic stuffed flatbread was to die for. Had the pepperoni stuffed pizza and that was great too. Excited to try the mushroom stuffed pizza next time and a different pasta. Service was spectacular!

Loved this place! The pizza is delicious and original. I love the funky menu options. I would recommend one of the personal sized pizzas per person. They are delicious and worth it. We tried the. Big Mac and the Toasted Rav pizza. The Big Mac really tasted like a Big Mac. Great stuff! And it may be a St. Louis heresy but I would almost say the toasted rav pizza is better than real toasted rav (almost lol). Seriously though, great food, quick service, clean restaurant with a nice atmosphere, and even clean bathrooms. I really enjoyed it.

This place is absolutely amazing!! We ordered the garlic bread sticks and they were the best I've ever had! You will not regret paying the extra $10. I got the Cavatelli pasta which was very unique and I loved the flavor profiles. Order it! My gf got the Chicken pizza which was also delicious! I love the twist they out on all their dishes. I'm from out of town and so glad I chose this place. Will definitely be coming back. People! You will NOT be disappointed with this place. Give it a try

Listen, I’m not trying to say this isn’t a pizza place — it is — but it’s so much more than that. Every time I’ve eaten at Press, the food has been not only a tasting experience, but an aesthetic one. I love eating at places that bring together unexpected flavors in intentional, creative ways, and Press will tickle your brain just as much as your palate. Every plate I’ve ever had here is as visually and conceptually engaging as it is delicious. The people, art, and atmosphere are super awesome too. Don’t sleep on Press — this place is doing something really special. [Apologies in advance for the half eaten food pics - I clearly haven't been able to refrain from eating before snapping a photo!]

This spot is exactly what you hope for: a true "classy hole in the wall." The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food speaks for itself. My mozzarella pizza was delicious. This is one of those places you walk into and instantly know it's going to be good. Highly recommend—I'm already planning my next visit.

Great little StL gem perfect for a casual date night serving up unique stuffed pizza and pasta...and did I mention the stuffed pizzas can be made gluten-free? The drinks on tap were super tasty and not your standard on-tap drinks. The gluten-free Big Mac pizza pays great homage to it's namesake with a perfect balance of hamburger, crust, special sauce, and more. Stuffed toasted ravioli pizza tasted just like the real thing in a great pizza form (although we would likely ask them to go lighter on the cheese/cream topping next time). The leftovers reheated amazingly well too. Looking forward to our next dinner there.

I'm hardly ever a member of the Clean Plate Club but I definitely joined yesterday after my first visit to Press! Went there for lunch around 12:30pm, sat at the bar & had the best experience. From the friendly gentleman taking care of us to the immaculate surroundings and curated local art really set the vibes for what was an incredible meal. The caesar salad was the first thing to blow me away, it is the real deal folks! It's an elevated version of crisp romaine draped with a housemade saucy tangy, pops-in-your-mouth caesar elixir laden with the juiciest anchovies you'll ever see in St. Louis, no dried bits here! Their gastronomic attentiveness to the salad extends to the tagliatelle bolognese. It is very evident you're eating fresh, housemade pasta and it's nestled within this deeply rich, hearty beef and pork sauce that has clearly been slow-cooked to absolute perfection. I was looking for someone's Italian grandmother in the kitchen! Seriously! Perfect meal for a chilly December afternoon that will warm your tummy and just make you feel good! My partner thoroughly enjoyed his Ozark mushroom pizza. While I didn't try it, the presentation alone was impressive and he raved about the plentiful kale & truffle jack toppings. Press Pizza & Pasta has officially made my list as a go-to spot for local food excellence. It's now one of those places I'll ask people if they've been and if not, I'll encourage them to go immediately and report back! Friendly folks there too, and that also adds to my new appreciation for this local treasure!
